Spellbook Privacy Policy
Spellbook is a private journal for sacred texts, prayers, and personal notes. Your words stay on your device.
Last updated: June 14, 2026
What Spellbook stores
All of the following stays on your device only:
- Texts, prayers, invocations, and meditations you add or edit
- Personal notes attached to each entry
- Display preferences (font size, background, reading options)
- Your last-read position and lock timing metadata
What Spellbook does not do
- No user accounts or sign-in
- No cloud sync or remote servers
- No analytics, crash reporting, or advertising
- No sharing of your content with third parties
- No internet access in the published app
App lock
You can optionally protect Spellbook with your device’s fingerprint, face recognition, or screen lock. Authentication is handled entirely by your operating system. Spellbook never sees or stores your biometric data.
Device backups
On Android, your device may include Spellbook data in automatic backups to your Google account if you have backup enabled in system settings. That backup is managed by Google and your device—not by Spellbook. Uninstalling the app removes its local data from the device; backup copies may persist according to your backup settings.
Third-party services
Spellbook does not use third-party services to process your content. Fonts used in the app are bundled with the app and are not downloaded at runtime.
Children
Spellbook is a general-purpose personal writing app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
